Fiday Night Movie

So, yesterday, I forgot it was Friday until I was on my way home from Kyrie's Seussical rehearsal. I hadn't even thought about a Friday adventure. Well, we decided to watch a movie in our back yard.

We invited some neighbors, popped popcorn, made treats, strung a "screen" on the back of our house and set up the projector. After much debate, we decided to watch "Sandlot"- good choice, Zach. After we set up, a lightning storm came over the Mountain, but luckily it missed us. There was a warm breeze, the stars came out and it was so much fun.

We did have to carry a couple of sleeping kids into the house.

Crabby Cabbage

Whitney's performances of "How Does Your Garden Grow?" were Friday and Saturday. She played the part of the Crabby Cabbage, the queen of the garden who is fed up with all of the weeds. It was such a cute program- and believe me, I know programs! Herb, the gardener (the H is silent you know) is having some problems and his garden is being taken over by weeds. the Scarecrow has to save the day by getting the plants to do the 'Garden Hoedown'. Whitney had a lot of fun taking this class at the Lehi Arts Center and I'm sure we'll go back for more.

Kyrie's performances of Seussical, Jr. are July 31 and Aug. 1, 2, & 4. The show is a little over an hour. Little kids would love to see this show with the fun music and silly Seuss characters. you can get tickets from the Lehi Arts Center if you'd like to come.

Claymation Movies

Before we left on vacation, I told you that we spent an afternoon making claymation movies. It kept the kids entertained for hours. They still beg to watch their movies. Here are Halle's and Whitney's.

Bear Lake Vacation

We're finally home from our vacation. We had a lot of fun. We got to Bear Lake on Sunday afternoon and the mosquitoes swarmed us when we got out of the truck. Luckily, we were prepared for them due to an Island Park Vacation a couple of years ago! It's good to be home, but here are some of our fun times.

La Beau's

I don't have pictures, but we had to stop at La Beau's on Monday. I used to stop there all of the time when I played the piano at Pickleville Playhouse during high school. Their shakes are the best. Scott & I got raspberry, Whitney got hot fudge, Halle got Strawberry Shortcake and I don't remember what Zach got. Kyrie came up on Tues. w/ my sister, Amanda.

Limber Pine Trail

On Tuesday, Scott, Zach and I went on a hike up Logan Canyon. It was a nice, easy hike up Limber Pine Trail at the summit of the canyon above Bear Lake. It was so beautiful with all of the flowers in bloom. The goal is an old Limber Pine tree- they've discovered that it is really 5 trees grown together. Scott got a call on his cell phone that he had to take, so Zach and I wandered around and I took a ton of pictures. We took Xander with us and he loved it. He was very worn out when we got back to the truck.

Minnetonka Cave

Minnetonka Cave is on the Idaho side of Bear Lake up St. Charles canyon. We went to the cave on Wednesday. It is very easy to get to the mouth of the cave, not a hike like Timpanogos. The cave formations are so beautiful. I still hate it when they turn the lights off in the cave and you can't see. Zach and Whitney were little troopers on this hike. I was impressed with them and they didn't complain one time. (Kyrie had a teenager moment and had to stay at the trailer)

Rendezvous Beach

We stayed at the campground at Rendezvous Beach State Park. We had a beautiful camp site, except for the mosquitoes. My mom and dad were parked next to us and that was very fun, especially for the kids. We went to the beach every day to play.
It was great weather for the lake.
