My Fugitive Mother

I had plans of posting Halloween photos and all that good stuff today. But when I found out that my mother had a warrant out for her arrest, I had to post about that!

A couple of weeks ago, my mom got a new car. On her way to work one morning, she got pulled over by a police officer. My mom was confused because she hadn't been speeding or anything. When the police officer came to the window, he said he couldn't see her temporary tag from the dealership, but now he could see it. He asked to see her registration and proof of insurance anyway. She told him it's a new car, she had nothing but the pink slip and gave that to him. He told her that she needed to transfer her old proof of insurance over to her new car and he GAVE HER A TICKET!!! She was suppose to take her proof of insurance to the Justice of the Peace in her town and it would be excused. Well, the first day she was supposed to go, her insurance card hadn't arrived so she didn't go. The second (and final) day she was supposed to go, my dad was sick and she forgot. The next day, she had an Arrest Warrant in her mailbox. After an agonizing night, she turned herself in to the Justice of the Peace. She was supposed to pay a $450 fine, but he knocked it down to $50. She is again a free woman. :) Scott called her and offered to bail her out if she needed and offered the name of a good lawyer, hee-hee-hee. Poor mom, I don't know which is worse for her, that it happened or that I blogged about it!!!

Your family will still love you, even though you didn't make the best choices.

She's lucky, that's her second close brush with jail. Remember how she failed to call in for jury duty? I love that she keeps life interesting!

Wow, does that go on her permanent record? I'm so glad she didn't have to pay such a big fine.
